Practice Plan for Teaching New Skills at Home

What is a Replacement Behavior?

A replacement behavior is a new skill that helps your child get what they need in a better way. Instead of just stopping the challenging behavior, we teach a new way! This planner helps you practice at home so the skill becomes easier and automatic for your child.

Tips for Success at Home

Practice when calm. Start practicing when your child is having a good moment, not during a meltdown.
Celebrate small wins! Any attempt at the new skill deserves praise, even if it's not perfect.
Be consistent. The more often you practice, the faster your child will learn.
Stay patient. New skills take time. Progress over perfection!
